Welcome to the launch of our new educational web site! This site is one of a series of strategies being developed by researchers at the Institute for Work & Health, Toronto, Canada to help practitioners access relevant, current research to inform their clinical practices. It is based on the U.S. Agency for Health Care Policy and Research Guidelines for the Management of Acute Low Back Pain and was developed in collaboration with the University of Calgary and New Media Interactive. We are now exploring the need for a CD-ROM and invite your feedback on this idea.

Visit our web site http://www.iwh.on.ca to find out more about some of our other initiatives. Some you may find helpful are:

Development and publication of the DASH User's Manual - A User's Guide for the DASH [Disabilities of the Arm, Shoulder and Hand] Outcome Measure [available June 1999].

Linkages: Transferring Research to Practice - a series of critical reviews of the best available evidence in the literature in the area of soft-tissue injury.

Coordination of the Cochrane Collaboration Back Review Group - part of an international organization that prepares, maintains and promotes the accessibility of systematic reviews of the effects of health care interventions.

Watch this page for updates from the literature on the management of acute low back pain, feedback from our stakeholders and upcoming educational activities.

We look forward to your feedback. Contact us at feedback@backguide.com.
