Correct, an NSAID may be appropriate.* The choice of NSAID's for symptom control should be guided by comorbidity and side-effects. NSAID's, including ASA and ibuprofen, can cause allergic reactions and GI irritation/ulceration. Phenylbutazone is not recommended, based on increased risks of bone marrow suppression. *If you had given Glen acetaminophen previously, you may consider adding an NSAID (e.g., ibuprofen) |
