Introduction - Acute LBP

Acute low back problems are defined as activity intolerance due to lower back or back-related leg symptoms of less than three months' duration. About 90% of cases of LBP spontaneously recover activity within one month. The approach to a new episode in a patient with a recurrent low back problem is similar to that of a new acute episode.
